The IFPA provides safe, confidential, non-directive and non-judgmental pregnancy counselling services for women and their partners who are experiencing a crisis or unplanned pregnancy. This service is free and operated by professional accredited counsellors and psychotherapists at 11 locations nationwide.

At the IFPA we know that a crisis or unplanned pregnancy can cause a range of feelings and emotions. Sometimes a crisis or unplanned pregnancy can also bring up other issues and concerns. Talking can help you to make sense of mixed or confused feelings.

During a counselling session our counsellors will listen to you and help you explore and work through these issues. They will also give you accurate, honest and clear information about your pregnancy options – abortion, parenting and adoption. IFPA counsellors will support a woman's own choice in all cases.

Our pregnancy counselling service includes:

  • Confidential and non-directive pregnancy counselling
  • Information on abortion and how to access services overseas
  • Information on adoption and parenting services
  • Information on pre-natal results and options
  • Ongoing counselling including post-abortion counselling

IFPA pregnancy counselling centres are located in Cork, Dublin City Centre, Tallaght, Dundalk, Tuam, Galway, Gorey, Letterkenny, Limerick, Sligo and Waterford.
