IFPA Medical Training

The IFPA has been offering Family Planning Courses for medical professionals since 1977. Our next Certificate in Contraception Theorycourse takes place on 20th and 21st September 2014 and has been designed to meet the specific requirements of nurses. The programme is certified by the Irish College of General Practicioners and has An Bord Altranais Category 1 approval. It comprises 1.5 days of theoretical training and a half day practical training. More.


IFPA Education Programmes

The IFPA Education and Training Department offers a range of training and education programmes on reproductive and sexual health. Courses include basic sex education programmes for teens, a general sexual health training for teachers, carers, youth workers and HSE staff, a programme for young people with extra support needs, and a course designed to help parents to talk their children about sex and relationships. The next IFPA Sexual Health Training takes place on 22nd May 2014. More


IFPA Resources

Contraception kits

The IFPA has a comprehensive range of education and training resources including multilingual sexual health leaflets, comic-style sex education booklets for young people, contraception display kits, and manuals for parents, carers and teachers about relationships and sexuality education for people with an intellectual or learning disability. More


FETAC Accreditation

The IFPA Education and Training Department has been an accredited FETAC provider since 2010. We are now in the process of validating two programmes through the new integrated agency QQI. This page will be updated once we have progressed with our submissions.
