IFPA Medical Training

The IFPA has been offering family planning training for medical professionals since 1977. Our Certificate in Contraception for Nurses and Midwives is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, formerly known as An Bord Altranais. The two day course includes theoretical and practical training. The next course takes place on 18th and 19th April 2015. More.

The IFPA Education and Training Department offers a range of training and education programmes on reproductive and sexual health. Courses include basic sex education programmes for teens, a general sexual health training for teachers, carers, youth workers and HSE staff, a programme for young people with extra support needs, and a course designed to help parents talk their children about sex and relationships. Contraception kits

The IFPA has a comprehensive range of education and training resources including multilingual sexual health leaflets, comic-style sex education booklets for young people, Sexuality Education Teaching Kits, and manuals for parents, carers and teachers about relationships and sexuality education for people with an intellectual or learning disability. FETAC Accreditation

The IFPA Education and Training Department has been an accredited FETAC provider since 2010.
