About

The purpose of the Code is to provide a framework which organisations can refer to when designing and implementing their communications strategy.

The Code of Conduct offers a set of guiding principles that assists organisations in their decision-making about which images and messages to choose in their communications while maintaining full respect for human dignity.

By signing the Code of Conduct, the IFPA commits to avoid stereotypical or sensational images, to respect the dignity and equality of all people portrayed in our images and to promote solidarity and justice through all our communications.

Choices of images and messages will be made based on the paramount principles of:

  • Respect for the dignity of the people concerned;
  • Belief in the equality of all people;
  • Acceptance of the need to promote fairness, solidarity and justice.

Feedback

Your feedback on the compliance of all of our communications (website, publications etc) with the Dóchas Code of Conduct is greatly welcome.

Please send an email with your feedback with the subject line 'Dochas' to post@ifpa.ie. We will endeavour to respond to your comments within five working days.

Complaints

According to the Code of Conduct feedback mechanism, the signatory organisation is the first point of contact if you wish to make a complaint. In the case where you deem our response to be unsatisfactory, you may choose to initiate a complaints process with Dóchas. More.
