Irish Young Decision Makers Meeting

The conference brought together key youth leaders and the leaders of tomorrow so that together they could take a forward look at sexuality education and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) both in Ireland and internationally.

The conference aimed to:

  • Emphasise specific needs on SRHR, particularly for young people, at the national as well as international level
  • Disseminate and promote young people’s rights with regard to SRHR and political participation
  • Facilitate the inclusion of SRHR in the agenda of political parties, parliamentary groups, youth groups, development NGOs, and sexual health NGOs
  • Promote the level of participation of young people in the design and implementation of srHr policies
  • Increase awareness and facilitate meetings and exchanges between different actors and resources involved in SRHR and international co–operation for development in ireland
  • Generate interest and obtain support from the media vis–à–vis leadership of young people and SRHR
