Sex: The Basics
Everybody’s doing it, right?!
Well, not necessarily, and if they are, are they doing it safely? Everyone wants to have a great sex life, but do you think this is as important as having a safe-sex life?
It’s important to feel confident, informed and happy about sex and your sexuality but if you do find yourself in difficulty, confused or unsure, then read on...
Deciding when to have sex:
Deciding when to have sex is your own choice. You should never feel pressurised into anything. If you are going out with someone, when to have sex should be a mutual decision, and if you don’t feel ready, don’t be pushed into it. If your partner really trusts and respects you they will be prepared to wait until you feel ready too!
You should always feel confident and comfortable about your choices and never allow someone to bully you into an uncomfortable situation. When someone else forces something on you, pushes you to do something or makes you feel uncomfortable about saying no to anything, this is peer pressure. Trust your instincts, your feelings and if you aren't sure what to do talk to a friend or adult that you trust.
