Think You are Pregnant?

If you think that you might be pregnant it is important that you do a pregnancy test.

There are a number of signs of pregnancy, but a missed period is usually the first indication. However, some women may still experience lighter / shorter periods, and for women who do not experience a regular cycle, it is difficult to know when their period is due.

The most accurate way to know is by doing a pregnancy test. Home pregnancy tests cost about €10 and are available from a pharmacy. Some women prefer to have a doctor or nurse carry out the test. At IFPA clinics pregnancy testing costs €20. If you have a medical card, pregnancy testing at our clinics is free of charge.

A pregnancy test can detect pregnancy immediately after a missed period. Some home tests can detect a pregnancy a few days before your period is due. Be sure to follow exactly the directions on the package to get an accurate test result.
